Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Psychiatric RN for adolescent care on a travel basis in Kingstree, SC. Position involves a 13-week contract with a 36/48 rotating schedule and Day shifts, starting ASAP.

Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders, with a focus on education and prevention. Corrections or psychiatric experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in-state practicing.
• CPR certification if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Health certificate according to contract or state regulation.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health and substance use disorder care coordination.
• Assess, diagnose and treat adolescent psychiatric patients.
• Document and communicate patient care plans clearly.

The Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMH) Registered Nurse, requires a wide range of nursing, psychosocial, and neurobiological expertise. PMH nurses promote well-being through prevention and education, in addition to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. The PMH RN works in a variety of settings and provides comprehensive care to individuals, families, and communities when applicable.

Minimum Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing

• Current CPR if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
