Southern Health Partners is seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team at the Madison County Jail in Huntsville, AL. The role requires psychiatric nursing experience and offers a full-time schedule in a structured correctional healthcare setting.

You will perform mental health assessments, provide interventions, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support inmate well-being while maintaining clinical documentation and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Registered Nurse license.
• Psychiatric or mental health nursing experience required.
• Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Perform mental health assessments, screenings, and ongoing nursing assessments.
• Monitor patients for changes in mental and behavioral health status.
• Provide nursing interventions and support individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor patient progress and response to treatment.
• Assist with behavioral health crisis intervention and stabilization when needed.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate members of the healthcare team.
• Provide patient education and support related to mental health and wellness.
• Collaborate with medical, mental health, and correctional staff.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
• Follow established healthcare protocols and facility guidelines.
• Provide compassionate, professional care while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries.
