Job summary

Oceans Healthcare, at the Ochsner Behavioral Health Acadiana site, is recruiting registered nurses to lead milieu management and direct patient care within psychiatric settings. You will ensure safe medication delivery, accurate documentation, and ongoing professional development in a fast-paced behavior health environment.

The role requires an active RN license (state of employment) and preferably an associate degree in nursing with inpatient hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in the state of employment.
• Compact licenses accepted where applicable.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.
• One year inpatient hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess and formulate an individualized plan of care.
• Identify risk levels and discharge planning tailored to each client.
• Apply psychiatric nursing interventions to promote wellness and safety.
• Administer medications safely and educate patients about medications.
• Document care, progress, and responses accurately in the medical record.
