The Psychiatric Nurse – PRN provides direct, recovery-oriented nursing care to adolescents and adults in an inpatient and residential psychiatric setting. This part-time, on-site role in Houston, TX includes conducting mental and physical health assessments, administering medications, monitoring for side effects, and responding to changes in patient status. The nurse collaborates closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other team members to implement care plans, support therapeutic interventions, and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Daily responsibilities also include documenting care in the medical record, providing patient and family education, participating in treatment planning meetings, and supporting de-escalation and crisis intervention in accordance with clinic policies.
