Job Description

Our client, a respected leader in chemical dependency treatment, is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join their outpatient team. This role is ideal for a provider passionate about improving the lives of individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The PMHNP will conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage psychotropic medications as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to whole-person, recovery-oriented care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
  • Provide ongoing medication management, including prescribing, monitoring, adjusting, and patient education.
  • Collaborate with therapists, counselors, and medical staff to develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in alignment with organizational policies and OASAS (Office of Addiction Services and Supports) requirements.
  • Monitor patient outcomes, track symptomatology, and make data-informed adjustments to care plans as needed.
  • Stay current with advances in psychiatric care, addiction medicine, and pharmacological interventions.
  • Participate in case consultations and serve as a clinical resource to program staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory standards, including those set forth by OASAS.

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted PMHNP license in New York State.
  • Experience working in outpatient psychiatric or addiction treatment settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with OASAS regulations and New York State behavioral health guidelines is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to a compassionate, culturally competent, and patient-centered model of care.
  • Ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative clinical environments.
