Job summary

BAS HealthCare seeks an experienced Outpatient Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner to provide diagnostic assessment and management of psychiatric disorders in Norwich and Willimantic locations. The role includes coordinating follow-up care, referrals, crisis intervention, and medication management within a collaborative practice with a psychiatrist.

The ideal candidate has a Master's in Nurse Practitioner studies, CT APRN license or eligibility, and PMHNP certification, with preference for 1+ year

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s program required.
• Must be licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut.
• National Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required.
• Preferred 1+ years of experience working as an outpatient psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage psychiatric disorders across an outpatient setting.
• Coordinate appropriate follow-up care, referrals, and case management.
• Perform crisis intervention and medication management.
• Develop and implement long and short-range treatment plans.
• Order and perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, providing patient notification and follow-up care.
• Work in collaboration with a Psychiatrist.

Job Details

• Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role serving both Norwich and Willimantic locations
• Schedule: Monday - Wednesday 8:00am - 4:30pm at primary hospital location; Thursday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm at secondary hospital location
• Evaluate and manage psychiatric disorders across an outpatient setting
• Coordinate appropriate follow-up care, referrals, and case management
• Perform crisis intervention and medication management
• Develop and implement long and short-range treatment plans
• Order and perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, providing patient notification and follow-up care
• Solicit medical management consults or input when appropriate
• Complete all clinical reminders to keep each patient up to date in the system
• Work in collaborative practice with a Psychiatrist
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master\'s program required
• Must be licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
• National Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required
• Preferred 1+ years of experience working as an outpatient psychiatric nurse practitioner
