Job summary

Inspire Counseling Center seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatrist to join our North Shore Chicago private practice in Evanston. The role offers a flexible daytime schedule with hybrid telehealth options and in-person days, requiring a minimum of 24 hours per week.

We provide strong administrative support, a collaborative team, and dedicated spaces for patient care, with a focus on work-life balance and meaningful, patient-centered treatment.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois PMHNP license with Full Practice Authority (FPA).
• Experience with children/adolescents is a bonus, not required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a private practice.

Responsibilities

• Psychiatric evaluations and medication assessments.

Are you a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner looking for greater control over your schedule—without giving up the stability, benefits, referrals, and support of a larger organization?

We're looking for an experienced, compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatrist to join our growing team.

The Schedule

We are looking for a provider who can work a minimum of a minimum of 24 hours per week, primarily during daytime hours.

• Monday–Thursday daytime availability, ideally between 9:00am–3:00pm or similar hours
• Hybrid flexibility: Enjoy the option to provide telehealth from home for a portion of your schedule, with a commitment to working in person at our Evanston office at least 2–3 days per week
• Downtown Evanston location, conveniently located near the Davis CTA Purple Line and Davis Street/Evanston Metra (UP-N) stations

• Fridays and weekend hours are available if desired

Practice Psychiatry the Way It Should Be Practiced

We don't believe medication management should feel like an assembly line.

Initial psychiatric evaluations are scheduled for 60 minutes, and follow-up appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes, giving you time to talk with your patients, provide thoughtful care, collaborate when needed, and complete documentation.

Inspire serves a diverse outpatient population, including children, adolescents, college students, young adults, and adults.

Our philosophy is highly collaborative. We view psychiatric medication as an important tool that, when appropriate, can work alongside therapy to help patients make meaningful progress.

One of the greatest advantages of joining Inspire is having an entire psychotherapy team available for collaboration and consultation. Many of our medication-management patients are also working with therapists at Inspire, allowing for continuity and coordination of care when clinically appropriate and authorized.

For shared Inspire clients, you can also benefit from information already gathered through their therapy intake and clinical record, while completing your own psychiatric evaluation and assessment.

You didn't become a psychiatric provider because you wanted to spend your day dealing with insurance companies, scheduling problems, marketing, or billing.

Collaborative Physician Support

We are particularly interested in experienced PMHNP candidates with Illinois Full Practice Authority (FPA).

• Current licensed to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP in the state of Illinois
• Full Practice Authority (FPA)
• Previous experience working with children/adolescent and adult patients in private practice a bonus, but not required.
