Key Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, follow‑up care, and medication management within professional and regulatory standards.
• Monitor effectiveness and side effects of psychotropic medications and provide ongoing patient education and informed consent.
• Collaborate with mental health, medical, and administrative teams to ensure coordinated and consistent psychiatric services.
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and participate in required meetings, consultations, and on‑call coverage.
• Support crisis intervention, referrals, transfers, and emergency or involuntary treatment processes as allowed by scope of practice and guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Master of Science in Nursing or Post‑Master’s Certificate from an accredited nurse practitioner program with a specialty in psychiatric mental health across the lifespan.

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a PMHNP required, or may be waived if approved by Vice President of Advanced Practice Program.
• Corrections experience in a PMHNP role preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Unrestricted current license to practice as a PMHNP in the state of practice.
• Current board certification as a PMHNP.
• Current DEA Registration (unless Chief Psychiatric Officer determines it as optional).
• Current BLS certification.
