Job summary
SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities seeks a Nurse Practitioner, Non-Institutional, to provide psychiatric and medical services under supervision. The APRN will perform evaluations, crisis management, prescribing and monitoring medications, and manage labs while maintaining compliant records.
Requirements include SC RN license with NP certification, extended role prescriptive authority, and a valid SC driver's license.
Qualifications
- APRNs must be licensed and board-certified, with clinical nursing experience.
- Experience with psychiatric care and prescribing psychotropic medications.
- Licensed in South Carolina and practicing in extended role.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric and medical services as part of the Psychiatric Medical Team.
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and crisis management; diagnose and treat.
- Prescribe and monitor medications; order labs and interpret results.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with QA/QI standards.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development.
