Job summary

Hospital for Behavioral Medicine in Worcester, MA, seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join a 120-bed inpatient facility with a multidisciplinary team to assess patients and develop treatment plans.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and educators, provide pharmacologic interventions, conduct follow-up visits, and participate in weekly staffing and family sessions. A Master’s in Psychiatric Nursing and MA licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Program in Psychiatric Nursing completed from an accredited school.
• Current RN and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensure in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting.
• CPR certification and CPI training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical assessments and develops treatment plans with a multidisciplinary team.
• Completes follow-up visits after initial assessment.
• Prescribes pharmacologic interventions as needed.
• Reviews all applicable laboratory and diagnostic test results.
• Consults with attending psychiatrist when necessary.
• Makes referrals for further diagnostic testing.
• Communicates with patients and families to obtain pertinent information.
• Prepares documentation per Hospital for Behavioral Medicine policies.
