Job summary

Family Health Center of Worcester, Inc. is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment within our community health setting in Worcester, MA.

The NP will deliver patient-centered care and work with multidisciplinary teams to support families and individuals. The role requires an experienced NP with MA licensure in Psychiatry, a DEA license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ANA accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner required.
• Massachusetts Board of Nursing licensure as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner required.
• Current DEA/Mass Controlled Substance license for prescriptive authority; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provides psychiatric health services, education, counseling and emotional support.
• Issues medication in accordance with treatment guidelines.
• Collaborates with Consulting Psychiatrist.

This position will be supporting patients at Family Health Center, 26 Queen Street and Worcester Health Care for the Homeless, 199 Chandler Street

Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric provides comprehensive, cost effective health care to families which includes assessment, diagnosis, and treatment according to the standards of advanced nursing practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains working knowledge of and adhere to the program Manual, agency handbook and Policies and Procedures
  
  • Commitment to providing cost conscious, fiscally responsible, timely, efficient, effective, safe, patient-centered, culturally competent, equitable, and participatory health care.
  • Attends all required trainings as per Agency Policy, Program Manual and Funder Guidelines.
  • Arrives on time for work and remains at work for whole shift and have regular and predicable attendance.
  • Maintains appropriate boundaries and ethical standards with staff, clients, visitors and outside providers as detailed in Agency Policy.
  • Maintains positive and professional working relationship with co-workers, managers, clients, visitors and outside providers
  • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills (included but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

One of the following combinations of education and employment experience must be met in order to be considered for the position:

Education and Experience

• Graduate of an ANA accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner required.
• Must have demonstrated ability to work independently with complex patient care.
• Professional Licensure/Special Skills And Certification Required: Current licensure by Massachusetts Board of Nursing as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Current DEA/Mass Controlled Substance license for prescriptive authority. BLS required.
