Job summary

Compass Health Center in Wisconsin seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join an interdisciplinary team focused on crisis-level care within PHP/IOP for patients from childhood through adolescence and adulthood.

You will perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with a treatment team to deliver individualized care. The role emphasizes documentation, patient/family education, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Advance Practice Nurse in Wisconsin with APRN credentials.
• PMHNP certification by ANCC is required.
• Prescriptive Authority is required.
• DEA license is required.
• RN license in Wisconsin is required.
• DNP or MSN in nursing from an accredited program.
• CPR certification.
• 4–5 years’ experience prescribing in psychiatry/mental health.
• Experience with mood and anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial psychiatric evaluations and develop plan of care including medications as indicated.
• Revise and implement therapeutic regimens with an interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor patient progress and document encounters promptly.
• Educate patients and families about clinical conditions and care aspects.
• Collaborate with treatment team to ensure quality of care.
• Pursue continuing education and professional development.
• Maintain professional relationships with patients, families and colleagues.
• Comply with all regulatory and organizational requirements.

• Providing timely documentation of each encounter with a patient
• Ensuring patient/family education regarding clinical condition and relevant aspects of care

Who You Are:

• Licensed or possess the ability to obtain license as an Advance Practiced Nurse in the State of Wisconsin
• ANCC National Board Certification in Psychiatry- PMHNP Certification
• Prescriptive Authority
• DEA license
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin
• DNP or MSN from an accredited Nursing Program
• CPR certified
• Experience with patients in crisis
• 4-5 years’ experience prescribing
• Experience with multiple specialties including mood and anxiety, mental health and substance use, OCD and complex anxiety, and trauma
