The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive psychiatric services to patients, including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, and follow-up care. This role works collaboratively with psychiatrists and other members of the integrated healthcare team to meet the behavioral health needs of patients. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner may also participate in program evaluation, staff development, data collection, and other activities that support the delivery of high-quality behavioral healthcare.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, families, staff, providers, and community partners.
Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships through telephone, telemedicine, and in-person interactions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Ability to follow direction, accept supervision, and exercise sound professional judgment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
