Job summary

Premium Health Center in New York is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to deliver high-quality mental health care and substance use treatment. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe and manage medications, and provide psychotherapy within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.
  • Board certification as a PMHNP.
  • Proficient in psychiatric assessment tools and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess client needs and determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Utilize various assessment tools and techniques to diagnose psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
  • Provide individual and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to client needs.
  • Develop and implement treatment strategies that effectively address client issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship problems.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to clients.
  • Coordinate with medical providers, social workers, and other counselors to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans and client progress.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential client records in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning mental health services.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for case management and treatment evaluations.
  • Advocate for clients’ needs and rights within the community and healthcare system.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions and the importance of treatment adherence.
  • Provide crisis intervention services when needed.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in mental health counseling.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
  • Engage in supervision and peer consultation to ensure best practices in counseling.
