Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner to lead psychiatric evaluations, manage care, and support patients with mental health and substance use needs in New York.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, develop treatment plans, provide psychopharmacology, order tests, document in EMR, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assess mental health and substance use disorders.
• Develop and evaluate individualized treatment plans with patients and families.
• Provide psychopharmacological evaluation and medication management.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling across the lifespan.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to support diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain EMR accuracy and confidentiality per regulations.

Job description

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments, including diagnosis of mental health and substance use disorders.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
• Provide psychopharmacological evaluation and medication management, including prescription of psychotropic medications.
• Utilize therapeutic communication to provide psychotherapy and counseling to individuals across the lifespan.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results as needed to support diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic medical records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and mental health wellness.
• Participate in case conferences, clinical supervision, and continuing education to ensure the highest standard of care.

Requirements

• Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing program.
• Licensure:
• - Active and unrestricted NP license. Active DEA registration.
• - Active Medicaid & Medicare provider status.
• Experience: New graduates are welcome to apply.
