Job summary

Nexus-Recovery is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work with the Medical Director on patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for outpatient substance use services.

The role includes prescribing medications, ordering tests, maintaining medical records, and ensuring HIPAA compliance while coordinating with the clinical team and families. A PMHNP license and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis from an accredited university.
• Licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Three years of related experience.
• Experience with startup substance use treatment services.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and related laws.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine clients' mental health needs.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications for clients.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement treatment plans that address both substance use and mental health disorders.
• Provide education and support to clients and families regarding medication management and mental health concerns.
• Document all client interactions and maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant laws and regulations.
• Order laboratory tests and interpret the test results.
• May also provide primary medical care services as indicated, in accordance with statutes, regulations and protocols regulating the profession.
• Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

JOB SUMMARY

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with the psychiatrist/ Medical Director to provide client assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, order laboratory tests, interpret test results, provide client education, and prepare medical records for Substance Use Treatment outpatient services. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of the Program Director.
