Role Description This full-time, hybrid Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role is based in Taft, CA. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and diagnose patients with mental health conditions, perform psychiatric assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, providing follow-up care, monitoring treatment effectiveness, and adjusting interventions as needed. The role involves close collaboration with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other team members to ensure coordinated, safe, and compassionate care. Additional duties will incluse maintaining accurate clinical documentation, participating in care team meetings, supporting crisis intervention when needed, and educating patients and families on treatment options and wellness strategies.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mental Health Nursing and Nursing, with the ability to provide safe, evidence-based psychiatric care.
• Experience and licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, with demonstrated competence in advanced clinical assessment and treatment planning.
• Practical expertise in Mental Health Care and Psychiatric Care, including medication management and supportive therapeutic interventions.
• Active Nurse Practitioner license in California and national board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent.
• Experience working in inpatient or outpatient psychiatric settings, preferably in hospital or clinic environments.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ethical, gender-neutral, non-discriminatory care and culturally responsive practice.
• Current BLS/ACLS certification and familiarity with relevant state and federal mental health regulations.
