Job Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Educator participates in all aspects of the hospital training program for the Arizona State Hospital, including but not limited to new employee orientation, review/refresher trainings, hands-on competency demonstrations, and unit/department-based training. The position will assist with conducting training needs assessments, confer with leadership concerning training needs, and assist with the implementation of programs tailored to meet those needs by creating training curriculum, designing training materials, researching best practices, and establishing/promoting training strategies and standards throughout the hospital. The position will provide training specific to licensed nursing, personnel, and basic skills/didactic training to all levels of hospital staff both in the classroom and at the unit/department level. This position will write and submit final reports on the results of training programs, evaluate their effectiveness, provide orientation, and serve as a resource for student nurses utilizing the hospital as a clinical site for psych nursing rotations. The position will work collaboratively with all departments to ensure consistency and meet clinical needs. Complete special assignments as assigned and serve on various hospital and nursing committees.
