Job summary

Montana State University seeks a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider to join Student Wellness’s integrated behavioral health team. You will deliver high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic psychiatric care to MSU students and collaborate with a dedicated psychiatrist, nurses, and counseling staff.

The position requires PMHNP or PA with psychiatry training, MT license eligibility, and commitment to culturally responsive care for diverse students across campus; starting after a successful search.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing with PMHNP specialty and national PMHNP certification.
• Montana license to practice as PMHNP with prescriptive authority or MT license to practice as a Psychiatric Physician Assistant (or eligible).
• Ongoing continuing education in psychopharmacology, diagnostic criteria, and treatment guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality diagnostic and therapeutic psychiatric health care to MSU students.
• Prescribe medications and coordinate referrals within the integrated behavioral health team.
• Precept nurse practitioner students and participate in designated committees and integrated treatment teams.
• Provide culturally responsive psychiatric care reflecting the needs of MSU’s diverse student population.

Education

Master’s degree in nursing with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialty

Post-graduate Psychiatry training or CAQ in Psychiatry with licensure eligibility (PMHNP/PA)
