Job summary

Indian Health Service seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan within federal guidelines.

Collaboration with physicians and teams, psychopharmacology management, and culturally responsive care are core. On-call and rotating shifts may apply; recruitment/relocation incentives may be available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• APRN licensure with PMHNP specialty required.
• Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current licensure and credentials to practice as a PMHNP.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations across lifespan.
• Prescribe/manage psychotropic meds and interpret labs.
• Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies and high-risk cases.
• Develop evidence-based, culturally responsive treatment plans.
• Provide psychiatric consultation to physicians and teams.
• Maintain compliant documentation and participate in program evaluation.
