Job summary

Anew Treatment Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, seeks a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to provide contracted psychiatric services for adults across our residential and outpatient programs.

The PMHNP will collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, and clinical team to deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based care, conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and support treatment planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing with PMHNP preparation.
• Current PMHNP-BC certification.
• Active, unrestricted Arizona licensure and prescribing authority.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with psychiatric evaluations and medication management in adults.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and reviews of history, symptoms and meds.
• Provide diagnostic assessment, treatment recommendations, and medication management.
• Review preadmission records and coordinate with the team.
• Prescribe/monitor medications and assess effectiveness and safety.
• Educate clients about medications and treatment options.
• Collaborate with nurses and clinical staff for coordinated care and planning.
• Attend treatment meetings and provide consultation.
• Coordinate with external providers as needed.
• Complete timely documentation and support medical necessity reviews.
• Provide urgent psychiatric consultation per contract terms.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

Position Type: 1099 Contractor

Schedule: Flexible, Onsite

Compensation: $90 - $145 per hour

Anew Treatment Center is seeking a compassionate, collaborative Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to provide contracted psychiatric services for adults receiving behavioral health treatment across our residential and outpatient programs.

The contracted PMHNP will work closely with our Director of Nursing and Psychiatric Services, Medical Director, and clinical team to provide individualized, evidence-based, trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including review of psychiatric history, current symptoms, medications, and relevant collateral information.
• Provide diagnostic assessment, treatment recommendations, and ongoing psychiatric medication management.
• Review preadmission records and consult with the team regarding psychiatric appropriateness and treatment needs.
• Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications within professional scope, assessing effectiveness, side effects, and safety.
• Educate clients about medications, symptom management, and their treatment options.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to support coordinated treatment planning, risk assessment, and continuity of care.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and provide consultation on complex clinical presentations as outlined in the service agreement.
• Coordinate with external healthcare providers when appropriate.
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and support medical necessity reviews as needed.
• Provide urgent psychiatric consultation and coverage as agreed upon in the contract.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing with psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner preparation.
• Current PMHNP-BC certification.
• Active, unrestricted Arizona licensure and prescribing authority appropriate to the services provided.
• Current DEA registration appropriate to the prescribing responsibilities of the role.
• Experience providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults with mental health and co-occurring substance use conditions.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, client-centered, trauma-informed care.
• Ability to meet Anew’s credentialing and professional liability insurance requirements.
• Experience in residential treatment, partial hospitalization, or intensive outpatient settings is preferred.
