Job summary

Carolina Psychiatry in Anderson, South Carolina, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider—PMHNP or PA-C—to join our outpatient behavioral health team. The APP will perform psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment in a collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate will have PMHNP or PA-C credentials, SC licensure eligibility, and strong skills in assessment, communication, and documentation. We welcome new graduates and experienced providers alike.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program with eligibility for SC licensure.
• Current PMHNP or PA-C certification is required or eligible.
• SC license or eligibility to obtain licensure is required.
• DEA registration is required for practice in this role.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication and documentation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of behavioral health conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications within scope of practice.
• Monitor patient progress and medication effectiveness/side effects.
• Provide education to patients and families about diagnoses and treatments.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and the treatment team.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers and specialists.
• Adhere to clinical, ethical, regulatory, and organizational standards.

Position Overview

The APP will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing behavioral health treatment in a supportive outpatient environment. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.

• Monitor patient progress, medication effectiveness, and potential side effects.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.
• Current certification as aPsychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)orPhysician Assistant-Certified (PA-C).
• Current or eligible South Carolina professional license.
• Current or eligible DEA registration, as required for the position.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative clinical team.
• Newly certified and experienced APPs are encouraged to apply.
