Job description

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Job Description

Thank you for your interest in working at Grounded Wellbeing! Candidates must be willing to work some afternoons/evenings and/or weekends, see adolescents and adults, and have experience and/or interest in working with complex trauma from a relational and attachment perspective.

  • Position Overview: PMHNP will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess clients’ mental health status, medication needs and treatment goals. We are currently looking for therapists or counselors who work with queer, trans, and gender-expansive folks, who are anti-racist, social justice minded, and ready to be a part of a dynamic, fun, and collaborative team. This is a part-time position requiring 30 to 40 hours of work per week.
  • About Grounded Wellbeing: Here at Grounded Wellbeing, we believe in creating the best atmosphere for our clients and employees, as well as giving back to our community. Our mission is to provide trauma-centered, holistic, and affirming mental health and wellness services for all individuals. With this, we intentionally create a welcoming space that centers the healing journey of queer, trans, and gender expansive people, ultimately leading to the betterment of our entire community. Our vision is a world where all individuals, regardless of their gender identity or expression, can find a safe and affirming space to heal, grow, and thrive. This vision becomes a reality, one person, one healing journey, and one community at a time.
  • Our Values: Grounded Wellbeing lives by values that guide who we are as a team and how we present to our communities. We hire staff who bring these values to life.

ATTUNEMENT We stay present to the moment, to our clients, and to ourselves. Attunement shows up as awareness, care, and a commitment to quality in every interaction.

AUTHENTICITY We believe our outer actions should reflect our inner truth. Living authentically means our words, our work, and our presence all point in the same direction, and we hold space for you to do the same.

COMMUNITY We believe in solidarity and collective support. We show up for one another, and we believe healing happens in connection, not isolation.

COMPASSION We give ourselves and each other continuous compassion. We prioritize flexibility and seeing each other's humanity, so that every person who walks through our doors feels met with care, not judgment.

LIBERATION We root our work in equity, inclusion, and anti-oppressive practice. Liberation means actively working to dismantle the systems that keep people from healing and thriving.

RECLAMATION We believe in taking back what was lost and transforming it into something better. Reclamation is an active practice for our clients, for ourselves, and for the communities we serve.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Perform on-site and telehealth psychiatric services to clients of Grounded Wellbeing, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.
  • Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Grounded Wellbeing.

  • Timely completion of written records for each client including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, termination notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Grounded Wellbeing or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the client same day or within 24 hours. Keep client files accurate and up to date.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and training as directed by Grounded Wellbeing.
  • Conduct and regulate psychiatric services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the goodwill and reputation of Grounded Wellbeing. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
