Job summary

Harboroaks is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to maintain medical record integrity in a psychiatric setting, handling filing, assembling, analysis, and confidential retrieval of records. You will work with Medhost to identify deficiencies, pull charts for audits, and ensure proper storage and retrieval of documents.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma and at least three years of psychiatric records experience, with RHIT/RHIA preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Three or more years' experience in psychiatric setting or combination of education and experience necessary.
• RHIT or RHIA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble medical records.
• Organize and analyze medical records for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify deficiencies in Medhost.
• Pull charts for audits and HBIPS processing.
• Ensure files stored per procedures.
• Maintain and search computerized medical records.
• Process medical records requests.
• Assist with HIM audits.
