Job summary

Office of Mental Health in Anderson, SC seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct psychiatric care and medication administration. The role includes teaching groups, maintaining patient records, and precepting new staff.

Eligible candidates must be licensed in South Carolina and capable of handling emergencies. Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform clinical tasks, and participate in mandatory trainings while pursuing additional education hours.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing (LLR).
• Able to work with mentally ill adults.
• Ability to perform emergency care and operate patient care equipment.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered to patients.
• Provide direct care to adult psychiatric patients and maintain therapeutic relationships.
• Record data in the medical record in real time.
• Precept and guide newly hired LPNs and supervise non-licensed staff.
• Complete mandatory trainings yearly and pursue additional 15 hours of training per year.
