Job summary

UNM Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse in Psychiatry to function as a consultant, educator, practitioner, and researcher within Behavioral Health. Qualifications

• Program Graduate
• Advanced Nurse or Clinical Nurse Specialist
• 1 year psychiatric experience
• Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo bilingual English/Spanish (optional)

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans within scope of practice protocols.
• Prescribe and distribute drugs, including controlled substances.
• Document patient care in the medical record and communicate with the health care team.
• Provide education for patients and families about care and treatment.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing and counseling staff to ensure continuity of care.
