Job summary

Sinai Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse for inpatient psychiatry to join our West and Southwest Side campuses. You will complete initial treatment plans, assess patients across cognitive and emotional states, and coordinate discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the State of Illinois (must be current)
• Current CPR – BLS certification
• 1 year of nursing experience in inpatient psychiatry preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred or higher education in nursing

Responsibilities

• Completes an initial treatment plan including basic and special needs
• Treats and cares for patients across cognitive, emotional and chronological status
• Anticipates and provides for discharge needs
• Charts patient progress in relation to the treatment plan
• Utilizes resources including family, referral sources and current treatment team
• Demonstrates accountability for the therapeutic milieu
• Validates written orders for appropriateness
• Implements physician and nursing orders with patient and family involvement
• Facilitates group and 1:1 interactions
• Operates within the clinical ladder and participates in ongoing CE

Responsibilities

• Utilizes available resources, including family, referral sources, prior treatment sources, and current multidisciplinary treatment team
• Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for the therapeutic milieu

License and Certification

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelors Degree preferred

• Successful completion of Hospital and Unit orientation programs
