Job summary

Premiere Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a psychiatry unit in Dover, NJ. This full-time, nights role involves direct patient care, education, and collaborative treatment planning in a behavioral health setting.

The RN will record histories, monitor symptoms, administer medications, and support families. Requires valid RN license, BLS, and psychiatric nursing experience, with knowledge of mental health laws.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification upon hire and maintained.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Experience in inpatient/outpatient behavioral health units.
• Minimum one year RN experience in psychiatric nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to psychiatric patients and educate about conditions and treatments.
• Record medical histories, monitor symptoms, and assist in diagnostics and therapy.
• Administer medications, operate medical equipment, and support family education.
• Run therapeutic groups and participate in crisis intervention and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.

Pay: up to $1,920.00 –$2,490.80 gross per week

Responsibilities

Registered nurses (RNs) perform basic duties that include treating patients, educating patients about mental and medical conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients’ and/or family members, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, seclusion and restraint of patients. RNs record patients’ medical histories and symptoms, help to perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. RNs teach patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy. Other related duties.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
• Minimum one (1) year of RN experience in a psychiatric nursing department.

This compensation estimate is specific to California and has not been adjusted for any other geographic location.
