UTMB Health is seeking a Psychiatric Provider to deliver direct outpatient psychiatric care within UTMB's sector of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The role involves collaboration with facility medical staff, conducting assessments, and participating in QI/QM initiatives in a secured correctional environment.
Qualified candidates will have graduation from a CA aP/NP program, Texas licensure, and current BLS-HP.
The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).
Under the direction of the Clinical Director or Staff Psychiatrist – Outpatient, provides direct psychiatric care to patients assigned to outpatient psychiatric facilities within the UTMB sector of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
Standard office and medical equipment.
Work environment is located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
