Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Psychiatric Provider to deliver direct outpatient psychiatric care within UTMB's sector of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The role involves collaboration with facility medical staff, conducting assessments, and participating in QI/QM initiatives in a secured correctional environment.

Qualified candidates will have graduation from a CA aP/NP program, Texas licensure, and current BLS-HP.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Current licensure to practice in the State of Texas.
• Mental health experience required.
• Current BLS-HP required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct psychiatric care to patients in outpatient facilities under supervision.
• Participate in clinical consultations with facility mental health and medical staff.
• Conduct psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans under supervision.
• Engage in the psychiatry QI/QM program.
• Provide emergency psychiatric call and respond to urgent needs.
