Compensation Range: $30.81 - $40.05

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual salaries will be set within this range based on various factors including experience, education, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations and risk assessments for patients in crisis across all age groups.
  • Provide assessment and intervention services to victims of abuse, neglect, or domestic violence, in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Deliver crisis interventions to patients presenting psychosocial crises.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to maintain patient safety and stabilize acute symptoms during evaluations.
  • Formulate initial discharge proposals and document evaluations and assessments thoroughly.
  • Present findings to the psychiatrist to aid in medical decision-making.
  • Develop and facilitate discharge planning, including safety planning and referrals for outpatient follow-up.
  • Engage interdisciplinary team members in assessment and intervention to ensure safe discharges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in mental health counseling or social work from an accredited program, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in acute psychiatric care preferred.
  • At least two years of post-graduate clinical experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to conduct behavioral health assessments and crisis interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for a busy clinical environment.
  • Commitment to biopsychosocial care and cultural humility.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • LMSW, LCSW, or Mental Health Counselor license within 1.5 years of hire; limited permit eligibility upon hire.
