Job summary

State of Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to deliver high-quality psychiatric care in a full-time role based in Waupun, WI. The APRN will conduct comprehensive assessments, build individualized treatment plans, manage medications, and provide patient education while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The position offers on-site work with potential hybrid arrangements and scheduling flexibility (five 8s or four 10s per week).

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Wisconsin APRN license.
• Appropriate national board certification.
• Prescriptive authority as required for the position.
• Experience providing psychiatric or behavioral health care preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Comfortable providing both in person and telepsychiatry services when needed.
• Strong communication, documentation, and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health assessments.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic mental health conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide ongoing medication management and monitor patient response to treatment.
• Prescribe medications within the APRN's scope of practice and Wisconsin regulations.
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and ongoing care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Participate in care coordination and treatment planning.
• Provide telepsychiatry services when appropriate as part of an approved hybrid schedule.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, clinical standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Position Overview

Schedule

• Five 8 hour shifts per week
• Four 10 hour shifts per week
