Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a PST Specialist to join our team visiting locations in and around the San Antonio, TX area. This casual/per diem role provides phlebotomy services and patient interactions across all ages with a focus on accuracy and compassionate care.

You will perform venipuncture, collect specimens, enter data, handle billing and travel to sites as needed. A valid driver's license and color-blind test may be required; preferred phlebotomy certification or training and 1+ year experience.

Work Schedule

This is a Casual/Per Diem position; hours will be "as needed" and the start and end times will vary.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed, Reliable transportation required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Preferred Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program and 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Additional Job Standards

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.

Incentive Bonus Program

• Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Float Incentive

• Additional $1.00/hourly plus mileage reimbursement.

Benefits and Compensation

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
