Job description

Title: Professional Services Technical Consultant

Location: Milan, ITA

As a Hospitality Technical Consultant – Professional Services, you will work in a team environment to design, configure, and deliver NCR software and hardware solutions. In this role, you will work with cutting-edge restaurant technologies such as contactless ordering and payment solutions, e-commerce, guest engagement and loyalty solutions, restaurant-branded mobile apps, as well as traditional point of sale, reporting, and payment technologies that restaurants require to operate.

This role reports to one of our PS Partners.

POSITION SUMMARY & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a customer-facing technology consulting role, requiring four days onsite at customers’ offices. You will identify client business requirements and configure NCR solutions to meet their needs and drive business value. The role requires a combination of skills to instill confidence in our expertise and facilitate the rollout of restaurant technology initiatives for large restaurant brands.

Specific Responsibilities include:

• Hardware configuration, integration testing, and troubleshooting
• Creating and executing testing checklists
• Gathering and documenting client requirements via in-person or virtual meetings and presentations
• Developing and configuring solutions to meet client needs
• Testing solutions jointly with client teams in preparation for deployment
• Creating training materials for end-users and personnel
• Working with organization and client teams to deploy solutions across multiple locations (up to several thousand restaurants)
• Providing feedback to product development on enhancements and issues
• Acting as a point of escalation to troubleshoot and isolate complex technical issues
• Producing knowledge management documents to aid problem-solving
• Proactively learning NCR products and diagnostic tools

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-10 years of experience in software and hardware implementation or technology consulting
• High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
• Networking knowledge
• Microsoft client and server systems knowledge
• Windows scripting skills
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Technical aptitude and a consultative approach with customers
• Ability to travel intermittently to client locations
• High energy, self-starter with attention to deadlines and ownership of tasks
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide value to clients
• Proficiency in Italian (mother tongue) and English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in restaurant or larger hospitality/food service industry, either working within or servicing the industry
• Previous experience in consulting organizations
• Knowledge and experience with restaurant Point of Sale systems
• Experience implementing SaaS solutions
• Knowledge of microservice architecture
