Job Summary

This position provides primary care and treatment to a group of patients in a clinic or hospital unit. This role may require accessing and administering medications within the scope of practice and according to State Law.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage patient care for the HHT (Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia) Center of Excellence.
  2. Manage complex adult congenital patients.
  3. Perform physical examinations and obtain medical histories to assess patient conditions.
  4. Formulate medical plans and prognoses based on patient conditions.
  5. Consult with physicians regarding patient care plans and treatments.
  6. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess clinical problems.
  7. Perform selected invasive procedures within validated competence.
  8. Initiate and recommend medical drug therapies or other treatments following protocols.
  9. Document patient care accurately, complying with medical records policies.
  10. Participate in quality improvement activities.
  11. Counsel patients, families, and significant others about health and illness, promoting health maintenance.
  12. Evaluate, plan, implement, and re-evaluate emergency care as needed.
  13. Demonstrate clinical competence, leadership, teaching, research, and communication skills.
  14. Provide care appropriate to the population served.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Utah.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required.
  • Utah State prescriptive privileges.
  • Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent, with current licensure and national certification.
  • Credentialing and privileging at hire.
  • Immunization according to CDC standards and hospital policy.

Additional Information
