Job summary

Burford’s Construction seeks a Trimmer B to join either a conventional or bucket crew. This mid-level climber performs most aerial tasks while avoiding the most challenging removals.

You will focus on safety, proper pruning, and operating equipment such as chipper, chainsaw, and bucket gear, with travel and overtime as needed. Based in Lakeland, Florida, the role requires English communication and a CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year of vegetation management experience.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Bilingual (Spanish / English) a plus.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL strongly preferred.
• Able to work for extended periods in various locations.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs; willing to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and uphold safety measures.
• Demonstrate trustworthiness and responsibility in all job activities.
• Possess understanding of pruning techniques, including natural and directional pruning.
• Possess all the requirements for the Climber C classification.
• Demonstrate climbing near energized lines and perform maintenance tasks.
• Safely remove overhangs with assistance and prune around live conductors.
• Remove trees dangerous to owner facilities.
• Operate chipper, split-dump, chainsaws, and bucket equipment.
• Maintain excellent customer relations.
• If bucket crew, understand bucket operations.
• Use bucket and hydraulic circular saw within equipment limits.
• Join storm restoration efforts when needed.
