Job summary

USI Insurance Services in Illinois seeks a seasoned Premier client manager for Tiers 2 and 3 (HNW & Affluent). You will renew, market, and review client programs, answer questions from clients and carriers, and provide strategic coverage recommendations while maintaining accurate records and service standards.

The role requires a P&C license, 8 years’ experience, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • 8 years’ experience in Personal Lines Property & Casualty Insurance.
  • Must hold state Property & Casualty license.
  • Designations such as ARM, CIC, CPCU or CPRIA encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise on insurance coverage and products.
  • Maintain renewal marketing and expirations to avoid lapses.
  • Prepare proposals and summaries of insurance as needed.
  • Respond to underwriters’ questions promptly.

Description and Requirements

General Description: Responsible for independently and proactively managing of assigned Premier in Client Tiers 2 and 3 (HNW & Affluent). Activities include, but not limited to renewal marketing, handling client questions and requests, completing an annual client review with thorough risk assessment of current and future exposures.Required to perform essential functions and meet service standards and Best Practices developed by USI.

  • Provide technical expertise (knowledge of insurance coverage and products, staying abreast on industry updates and changes) with service of new and existing clients. Consultative approach providing expertise in identifying exposures and problem solving in accordance with the objectives and procedures based on USI Core Values and Standards.
  • Maintain renewal expirations, avoid any lapse in coverage.
  • Make insurance program recommendations.
  • Respond to underwriters’ questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare proposals and summaries of insurance, as needed.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management and document management systems.
  • Provide direction to clients in submitting first reports of claims, facilitate prompt response from carrier.
  • Identify exposure to loss and recommend appropriate coverage.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 8 years’ experience in Personal Lines Property & Casualty Insurance along with comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverages, underwriting and rating concepts.
  • High School Graduate. College degree preferred, but not required.
  • Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license
  • Hold an industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU, CPRIA or expected to further industry knowledge through courses with intent to pursue an industry designation.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Sagitta/WorkSmart preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Sets priorities and manages work flow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.

Actual salary is dependent on skill set and experience, with an opportunity for a monthly incentive bonus, commissions, and equity program.
