Who We Are

BTST Services LLC is a CARF-accredited, licensed mental health agency providing comprehensive programs and integrated care to children, teens, and adults throughout Maryland. We take an individualized, strength-based approach and recognize that each client’s needs, goals, and services are unique.

Who You Are
  • Highly organized, with strong time-management skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage an assigned caseload independently while maintaining timely documentation and communication.
  • Professional, accountable, and committed to ethical practice, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Comfortable working independently in community settings and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team under the supervision of the assigned Rehabilitation Specialist.
  • Proactive in identifying barriers, solving problems, and communicating concerns to supervisors.
  • Adaptable to changing client needs, scheduling demands, and agency priorities.
  • Compassionate, culturally responsive, and committed to helping clients make progress toward rehabilitation goals.
Position Overview

The PRP Counselor provides individualized psychiatric rehabilitation services to children as young as five-years-old, adolescents/teens, and adults experiencing mental health challenges. The role helps clients strengthen daily living skills, independence, self-advocacy, and community integration while working toward goals in their Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs). This is a flexible, community-based position. Most services take place in clients’ homes or other appropriate community settings, with office attendance as needed for meetings, training, and agency activities. The position is primarily in person rather than remote or virtual.

What Community-Based Work Looks Like

You will meet clients in person in their homes and other appropriate community settings and travel within the assigned service area. Scheduling may be flexible, but must accommodate client needs, service requirements, documentation, and team coordination. Office visits may be scheduled periodically. Virtual visits are not the primary service model, particularly when working with younger clients.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide individualized rehabilitation services, typically 4–6 direct service sessions per client per month, as planned by the client and rehabilitation team.
  • Collaborate with clients and the assigned Rehabilitation Specialist to develop, implement, and review Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs), generally every 3–6 months or as required.
  • Help clients build daily living, coping, problem-solving, independence, and self-advocacy skills.
  • Identify barriers to progress and connect clients with relevant community resources and supports.
  • Provide crisis support as appropriate and promptly notify the supervisor or Rehabilitation Specialist of crisis situations and significant concerns.
  • Maintain timely, accurate client charts and service documentation in the agency’s electronic health record (EHR), consistent with agency policies and applicable COMAR requirements.
  • Participate in agency-led groups, community activities, and events as assigned, including at least one agency-led on-site or off-site group or event each month.
  • Attend supervision, required trainings, monthly PRP team meetings, and additional meetings as needed.
  • Complete related administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
What You Need
  • A degree in a health-related field or at least 30 completed credit hours toward a health-related field; OR
  • At least one year of direct-care experience in a supervised mental health setting, with responsibility for implementing activities outlined in minor IRPs.
  • A reliable, personal vehicle with active car insurance and a clean driving record
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population, including children, adolescents, and adults with mental health needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, complete accurate documentation, and meet community-based travel requirements.
Why You’ll Love It Here
  • Flexible scheduling in a community-based role.
  • Supervised field experience and ongoing professional development.
  • Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Opportunities to facilitate psychoeducational and rehabilitation groups.
  • The opportunity to help clients build practical skills, independence, and meaningful connections in their communities.
Perks for Part Time Employees:
  • Partnerships with select colleges/universities (tuition discounts, scholarships, etc.)
  • Sick and Safe Leave
  • Referral Program
  • Flexible Schedule
