Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools seeks an Educational Assistant - Proximity Support to assist learning with blended instruction under the teacher’s guidance. You will help the virtual synchronous teacher, support small groups and individuals, and document progress while coordinating with the classroom teacher.

The role emphasizes collaboration, student engagement, and data collection to reinforce understanding.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree or two years of college (minimum 48 semester hours).
• One year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Co-facilitate learning with varied modes of blended instruction under mentorship from the teacher.
• Assist the teacher of record with distributing education content including notes, tests, and assignments.
• Provide instructional support to students in whole group, small group, and individual settings.
• Monitor student progress and document academic and behavioral data to reteach as needed.
• Attend professional learning sessions and district-provided training as required.
• Provide general supervision of students in classrooms or district premises.
