The Provider Service Representative is responsible for assisting in the full range of provider relations and service interactions within UnitedHealth Group, including working on end-to-end provider claim and call quality, ease of use of physician portal and future service enhancements, and training and development of external provider education programs. Provider Service Representatives assist in the design and implementation programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers (physician, hospital, ancillary, etc.), and practice managers.

Other responsibilities include supporting those who direct and implement strategies relating to the development and management of a provider network, identify gaps in network composition and services to assist the network contracting and development staff in prioritizing contracting needs, and may also be involved in identifying and remediating operational short-falls and researching and remediating claims.

If you are resident of East Tennessee Region, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Training and on-going education of providers on policies and procedures
  • On-site assessments to ensure that providers are compliant with contractual terms
  • Trouble shooting provider concerns internally with the expectation of timely resolution of issues
  • Traveling to provider offices quarterly to build relationships, up to 75% travel within specific region in Tennessee
  • Presentations to train providers on new requirements, or reiterate existing requirements
  • Documenting outreach, as applicable

Eligible candidates must be a resident ofEast Tennessee Region.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of work experience (preferably in health care)
  • 2+ years of experience in Provider Relations and/or Contracting
  • Intermediate level skills with MS Office Products including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Travel in state (up to 75%) for provider visits
  • Proven solid analytical skills
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to balance multiple high priority projects and meet quick deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry, in a role where provider interaction was involved
  • Experience and knowledge with Medicaid
  • Experience and knowledge with Long-Term Services and Supports providers

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
