Job summary

Independent Health is seeking a Provider Relations Representative to support our healthcare provider network. The role emphasizes first-call resolution, helpful customer service, and effective navigation of multiple systems to answer benefit, eligibility, billing, and EOB questions.

Training is on-site for about 12 weeks at our Williamsville, NY location, with a Monday–Friday schedule. The position entails working standard hours with on-site training and opportunities to develop relationships

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior customer-service experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working with provider offices strongly preferred.
  • Proven history in a high-volume work environment where organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls from health care providers, assisting with benefit, eligibility, billing, payment questions, and EOB explanations.
  • Develop relationships with office staff by providing confident and accurate responses in a collaborative, professional manner.
  • Meet performance measures in the call center, including efficiency, quality metrics, first-call resolution, and attendance.

Training and Schedule

Training: Approximately 12 weeks of on-site paid training, Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m. – 4:30p.m. Location: 511 Essjay Rd, Williamsville, NY.

Schedule: Associates will work a regular shift between the hours of 8:00a.m. and 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday.

Overview

The Provider Relations Representative will assist our provider constituents and provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include answering incoming calls from health care providers—including physician offices, ancillary provider offices and facilities—helping with benefit and eligibility questions, billing and payment questions, and EOB explanations. The role focuses on first‑call resolution and navigation of various systems and programs to provide the caller with appropriate information and resolution.

Develop relationships with office staff by providing confident and accurate responses to customer inquiries in a collaborative and professional manner. Meet all performance measures established in the call center, including efficiency, quality metrics, first‑call resolution, and attendance.
