Job summary

TRUCKING PEOPLE in Sunnyvale, CA is hiring an Engineering Technician to support design, build, test, and maintenance of test rigs and vehicle platforms. This role involves hands-on work across mechanical, electrical, and automotive systems, including prototyping, wiring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.

You will collaborate with teams to minimize downtime, manage lab inventories, and help with fabrication, calibration, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on technical experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive, robotics, or similar.
• Experience assembling prototypes, wiring, and cable assemblies.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and datasheets.
• Experience working in a lab, shop, or build environment.
• Strong soldering and hands-on technical skills.
• Familiarity with shop equipment and tools.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with 3D printers and diagnostic tools preferred.
• Familiarity with Python, Linux, or ROS is a plus.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) is a plus.
• Exposure to AV systems (LiDAR, radar, cameras) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot vehicle systems, sensors, and computer components
• Perform root cause analysis and system calibration
• Assemble prototypes, wiring, and cable assemblies
• Interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Support testing and validation of hardware systems
• Manage inventory of lab components and supplies
• Handle procurement and maintain supplier relationships
• Maintain documentation for assembly and procedures
