Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking an experienced fabricator to prototype products and tooling for manufacture. You will use travelers, blueprints and sketches to meet quality targets, while reviewing existing parts for improvements and cost reductions.

The role requires weldin g thin gauge material and operating multiple shop tools in a Lean environment. The candidate will also keep work areas clean, follow ERP processes, and communicate issues to supervision, supporting continuous improvement and

  • Proven proficiency in welding and fabrication with attention to quality.
  • Ability to read blueprints and translate specs to prototypes.
  • Experience with Lean/6S and continuous improvement mindset.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position will perform prototype duties with a particular expertise in manufacturing and fabrication.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Use manufacturing paperwork (travelers, blueprints, sketches, etc.) to:- Prototype a product to meet customer and quality requirementsPrototype tooling and/or fixtures required to manufacture productPerform a prototype review on existing products for cost reduction and/or prototype changesMeet time and schedule standards for assigned tasksKeep equipment clean and maintain proper operating standardsAdvise supervision of issues that ariseMake routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistanceCommunicate effectively with other employees to direct personal workflowIdentify set-up reduction opportunities and Lean process opportunities and communicate to proper 6S team leadProperly use the ERP management system to meet all company standardsADDITIONAL RESPONSIBLITIES:Assume other responsibilities as required**PRIMARY PERFORMANCE PARAMETERS: **Meet the required delivery dates for all assigned jobsMeet customer delivery requirementsMeet quality requirements of all assigned processesConduct all operations in a safe mannerQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Firm understanding of manufacturing processes and equipmentAbility to weld thin gage material with a good penetration and a quality appearanceAbility to operate a Tig welder with Mig welding knowledgeAbility to operate various shop tools including hand tool and rollsAbility to read & understand blueprints and technical documents commensurate with machine operationA genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes and a willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and cultureOrganizational and time management skillsSelf starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize work day/projects independentlyExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to use various inspection gagesBasic computer knowledge including a firm understanding of Solid WorksEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentCERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIRED:Valid Driver’s LicensePHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
