Job summary

Cer Group is seeking a Prototype Technician for a contract role in Hamtramck, MI. You will build prototype assemblies to engineering requirements and certify inspections, using welding, press, robotic, torque equipment and a variety of hand tools.

The job requires interpreting complex blueprints and documenting builds with accuracy. The position involves collaboration with engineering, suppliers and customers, strong communication, and problem-solving to meet aggressive schedules.

Qualifications

• Two-year Associate Technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years' experience in automotive, aerospace, or prototype manufacturing operations.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Build prototype assemblies and subassemblies to engineering requirements.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications and perform inspections and tests.
• Record builds and inspection documentation (written, electronic, photographic).
• Utilize welding, press, robotic, torque equipment and hand tools.
• Possess safe operation of material movement equipment and lift up to 50lbs.
• Attend program technical reviews with engineering, suppliers and customers.
