Job summary

Makemarks, part of the Propelis Group, is seeking a Prototype Technician to build prototypes for clients based on engineering direction. The role is onsite in East Butler, PA, handling fabrication, assembly, and field installations to validate form, fit, and function.

The position requires travel, proficiency with MS Office and related software, and strong communication, analytical, and planning skills. You will work in a fast-paced environment and support manufacturing transitions.

Responsibilities

• Builds prototypes per specifications using tools and equipment.
• Assembles and packs complete set ups for Brand activation, pilot or flagship stores.
• Redlines drawings for changes/corrections.
• Assesses challenges and risks of product.
• Validates instruction sheets.
• Presents ideas to engineering for alternate construction.
• Transfers information to manufacturing.
• Installs prototypes in the field as required.
• Additional duties as required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Prototype Technician builds prototypes for clients based on direction provided by engineering. The purpose of these prototypes is to validate to form, fit and function of the industrial design,

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Builds prototypes per specifications using tools and equipment such as table saw, miter saw, grinder, drills etc.
• Build, collate and pack complete set ups for Brand activation, pilot or flagship stores
• Redlines drawings for changes/corrections.
• Assesses challenges and risks of product.
• Validates instruction sheets.
• Presents ideas to engineering for alternate construction.
• Assists as required to transfer information to manufacturing.
• Installs prototypes in the field as required.
• Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Combination of education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
• Ability to travel as necessary
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $50,000 USD - $60,000 USD annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
