Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

We exist to inspire the world to play, and we’re looking for the right people to make that happen. As we bring new forms of entertainment to people around the world through our games, experiences, and new ways to play, we need innovative, collaborative, diverse, and adaptable people to keep making Electronic Arts better.

You will be working to incubate new potential titles in the EA Lifestyle Group. We build games for Imaginative Creators; games that allow players to create something that is an expression of their unique personality.

In this role, you will be part of a small incubation team focused on prototyping new game concepts for web and social platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role: you will rapidly turn design ideas into interactive, playable prototypes, adapt existing EA assets for new mediums, and work closely with designers and artists to capture and elevate the goals of each concept. You will also partner with other engineers to explore and adapt emerging technologies, finding ways to bring new capabilities into our prototyping process and, ultimately, to market. You will play a central role in shaping EA’s exploration of new forms of play by delivering prototypes that can be tested, refined, and used to push the boundaries of what games can be.

Responsibilities
  • Work with design and art to capture the spirit and goals of each concept — and, where possible, elevate it
  • Adapt and optimize legacy assets for new mediums, finding creative ways to make them shine in prototypes
  • Connect prototypes with internal and external services (leaderboards, social hooks, multiplayer-lite features) to maximize engagement
  • Provide technical feedback and always find creative ways forward
  • Bring positive energy: support teammates, build on their ideas, and set a standard that raises the whole team’s performance
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with one or more game engines such as Unity, Godot or Unreal with a shipped mobile or web game
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality prototypes under fast iteration cycles, from concept to testable product
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: creates solutions that honor design intentions and make the game better for players
  • Positive team presence — adds energy, inspires peers, encourages contributions, and motivates others to raise their game
  • Fearless with new technologies; curious, adaptable, and skilled at finding what works in practice
  • Clear communicator — explains tradeoffs and solutions in plain language to both technical and non-technical teammates
  • Genuine enthusiasm for games, with a strong focus on players and a deep curiosity about how people play and express themselves
