Job summary

Technique is seeking a Prototype Stamping Technician at our Michigan facility to develop a progressive stamping skillset from start to finish. You will work with deep draw stamping fundamentals, set up dies, operate presses, and perform process inspections in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of stamping equipment experience, understands friction, gap control, and GD&T, and can use AutoCAD and controls software.

Qualifications

• General manufacturing background with 2–4 years of stamping equipment and metal forming experience.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and controls software.
• Understanding of GD&T and deep draw stamping fundamentals.
• Active lifting and movement of items over 50 pounds as part of full shift.

Responsibilities

• Execute multistep draws, sizing preforms and adjusting processes to prevent cracks.
• Apply friction and drawing fundamentals to manage pressure and cushion pins.
• Maintain gap control in stamping operations to ensure part quality.
• Design tooling in AutoCAD and draw nests, guide plates and binder plates.
• Complete GD&T layouts and controls documentation, write programs, save runsheets.
