Job summary

Sigma Design in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a Prototype Software Test Engineer II to develop and maintain test software for prototype validation, device bring-up, and manufacturing activities. This role focuses on automated test solutions and troubleshooting Android/Linux-based prototypes in a collaborative environment.

You will work across hardware, firmware, and systems engineering to ensure product quality, data integrity, and efficient test cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, or equivalent.
• Min 5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation and data processing.
• Experience with Linux environments and command-line tools.
• Experience with Android device debugging using ADB, logcat, or similar tools.
• Experience across Windows, macOS, Linux.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain Python-based test software for prototyping and testing.
• Develop and implement program-level test plans with Engineering.
• Design and deploy automated test solutions for manufacturing and bring-up.
• Execute end-of-line testing and fault isolation with repair support.
• Troubleshoot Android and Linux prototypes using ADB, logs, and consoles.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems engineers to diagnose issues.
• Maintain and update test coverage as requirements evolve.
• Oversee test data collection and ensure data integrity.
• Maintain lab hardware, PCs, and test rigs.
• Follow security policies to protect data.
