Job summary

HireArt is seeking a Quality Technician (Prototype Manufacturing) to manage inspection and material flow for high-precision prototype parts in a fast-paced shop in Foster City, CA. You will read blueprints, use precision tools, and ensure proper documentation and traceability.

Responsibilities include incoming inspections, post-processing checks, NCR management, and maintaining ERP/MRP records. This is a full-time on-site contract position with benefits via HireArt.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints and engineering drawings
• Hands-on use of precision measurement tools
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Proficiency with Google Sheets and Google Docs
• Quality inspection and shop logistics

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming raw stock and tooling for dimensional accuracy and certifications
• Perform incoming inspections on parts post-processing (anodizing, heat treatment, etc.)
• Conduct final visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
• Route and track parts between machining, deburring, and outside processing vendors
• Package prototype parts securely and prepare shipping documents including certificates of conformance
• Identify non-conforming materials, initiate NCRs, and coordinate with machinists and quality engineers
• Maintain lot control, heat-number traceability, and real-time status in ERP/MRP systems
• Assist with stock audits and maintain inventory of shipping materials
