Job summary

City of Lincoln seeks a Product Design & Pattern Maker Assistant in Peoria, AZ to support product development, pattern making, prototypes, and new design projects.

The role collaborates with Product Engineering, Production, and other teams in an office and production environment, with strong emphasis on sewing processes, tech-packs, and textiles expertise. English/Spanish bilingual preferred for team communication.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of design project experience.
• Experience collaborating with sewing machine operators in live production.
• Understanding sewing steps and ability to create tech-packs.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Portfolio demonstrating a strong foundation in product design and development principles.
• Proficiency in Accumark software.
• Knowledge of textiles including lightweight, stretch, nylon, cordura, and aramid fibers.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Grasp project objectives and needs.
• Craft prototypes, drafts, and innovative design solutions.
• Collaborate with team members to bring designs to life and ensure seamless communication and coordination.
• Incorporate user feedback to enhance designs.
• Stay current on industry trends and advancements.
• Contribute throughout the design lifecycle, from concept to completion.
• Monitor production quality and provide feedback to help ensure established quality standards are maintained.
• Identify technical sewing challenges and assist with solutions to keep production on schedule.
